Rico Phillips Speaking Engagement

We’re happy to welcome the Flint Jr. Firebirds Bantam House B team and Rico Phillips to our tournament this weekend. Rico Phillips is the winner of the 2019 NHL Willie O’Ree Community Hero Award (presented to “an individual who – through the game of hockey – has positively impacted his or her community, culture or society”), and the Flint Jr. Firebirds, which features several past members of the Flint Inner City Youth Hockey program that Mr. Phillips created.
On Saturday, February 15th, Rico Phillips will be participating in two speaking engagements at Stanley’s in the Bell Sensplex, one at 4:30pm and the other at 7:30pm. Teams are invited to come out and listen to Rico talk about his community involvement and what led to him winning the award. Players will also get the chance to ask questions and take pictures with the award.
